Same soul, spelled out: &Soul is becoming AndSoul

Our name has always had a quiet split in it. On a page, we were &Soul. But the moment the name had to be typed, we became something else. An ampersand cannot live in a web address, an email, a handle or a hashtag, so everywhere it mattered, the name spelled itself out: andsoul.com, andsoulsanctuary.com, @andsoulcommunity, team@andsoul.com

Which meant that a single member could meet three versions of us in one journey: &Soul on the website, And Soul on Facebook, andsoul on Instagram. Three names, one brand. And when the name left the page altogether, machines did the deciding for us: a booking link would mangle the ampersand into "%26" and hand you something that looked like a typo.

Nobody searches for "&" either. People type "andsoul" or "and soul", and we want the name we carry to be the name people actually reach for. So rather than keep translating ourselves, we are making it official. The spelled-out name was already doing the work. Now it gets the title.

Here is the part we care about most: the "&" stays.

The ampersand is the most distinctive thing we own visually, and it keeps its place at the heart of the brand. The &S monogram remains our icon, our favicon, the mark on the door and the stamp on everything we make. What changes is only the written name beside it. Plenty of brands you know live happily this way: a symbol that needs no words, next to a name that needs no symbol.

Everything else you recognise stays exactly as it is. The midnight navy and warm ivory. The copper accents. The type, the photography, the feeling when you walk in. This is not a redesign. It is one glyph becoming three letters.

The honest reason for doing this now is that we are growing, and growth rewards clarity.

What started as a single idea about better living in London is now three places with one thread running through them: Southall AndSoul, our all-inclusive home base in West London. Shoreditch AndSoul, our most connected address in the east. And AndSoul Sanctuary, the social wellness club where the city comes to feel better.

As more people meet us for the first time, in more places, we want them to meet one name, spelled one way, everywhere: on the site, on socials, on Google, on LinkedIn, above the door. AndSoul is the name this next chapter gets written under.

Almost nothing, and we mean that warmly. Your home, your membership, your bookings, your contacts and every link you have saved all work exactly as before. No web address changes. No email changes. No action needed from you.

Over the next few weeks you will see our pages and profiles update one by one, including our LinkedIn page, which will move to the AndSoul name. If you spot both spellings side by side for a moment, that is just us mid-turn.

"This is a clarification, not a reinvention," says Fathi, our Chief Operating Officer. "Everywhere our name is typed, searched or linked, it has always been spelled out. We are simply making the name people already use our official one, at the moment the company begins its next chapter."

Same soul. Just spelled out.

AndSoul. A place to land, so you can leap.
